About our school

The Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School had its beginnings in 1980. In 1992, Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School became accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School became one of the first 20 charter schools when it was approved by the Texas State Board of Education. The school has been in existence for 19 years and has graduated over 1,140 students.

Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School Charter School is an innovative leader in education who focuses on helping students who cannot function in a traditional school setting. The Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School educational program is designed to provide academic training for students who have left school and to provide academic maintenance skills for students who are referred to the program by local school districts.
